You already have a sensational budget to spend in Bali, but here’s a problem: When to go to Bali? When the perfect period in a year to have such an amazing vacation in this island of Gods?

Here are a few ideas for you to consider and hopefully could be your guidance to plan your trip.


We think you already know the answer, of course, it occurs in Bali’s (and maybe world’s) high season.

Between July – August and year-end are the busiest seasons for this little island. If you don’t mind with that, or maybe you are one of the party animals, then these periods are very suitable for you.

With many selections of night clubs, pubs and bars, Kuta and Seminyak are mostly will be the centre of euphoria. However, if you choose not to be fully part of it you could stay a little bit outside of this area, like Nusa Dua or Sanur.

Nusa Lembongan would be another option for this period, it offers a different kind of excitement. Relatively it would not be as hectic as the main island considering that Lembongan is much smaller than the main island, it still has its own stillness after midnight.


Digital nomads are being a phenomenon in the last 5 years. Many people taking a chance to release their "behind the desk" career to pursue what so-called “once in a lifetime experience”.

So if you happen to be one of these wanderers, the perfect time to go to Bali are between April – June or September – October. In one thing you could reduce your expenses in flight ticket or accommodation considering that you could found many promotions during this time. On the other hands, you could capture tons of beautiful landmarks pictures and footage as it is the starting months of the dry season.

There also many festivals or cultural activity happens in this period e.g. Annual Bali Art Festival (Pesta Kesenian Bali) happens in the middle of June, Pandan War at Tenganan Village usually between May-June, Many Kite Festivals starting from June – September, etc.

If you happen as a surfer too, you are fortunate enough to catch the high tide in this period. The same as if you are a diving enthusiast, the month of May is a good start for some diving adventure in Nusa Lembongan, Amed or Lovina.


Last but not least if you are not included in two classifications above, or you are more to spiritual traveller then pick a date between February-March or October-November.

More to this, Bali’s weather is relatively calm and cool during that period. The frequency of tourist visit is touching on its lowest figure. You also could experience Nyepi Day which usually comes in March annually. There is so many cultural procession during this holy week, from Melasti to Pengerupukan Festival / Ogoh-Ogoh Festival until Ngembak Geni (you could head to south Denpasar for Omed-Omedan Festival). For the Nyepi Day itself, where you only could hear nature orchestra for the whole day.

Bali’s biggest yoga & art festival also held usually in March at Batuan Village, Ubud, Gianyar. While north Bali’s Lovina festival at Kalibukbuk Beach usually held on October every year.

When you are happening to be an iron man athlete, visiting Bali during this time will be perfect timing for you as Bali International Triathlon is usually held between October – November every year. This year event will be held in Mertasari Beach, Sanur.
